Ken Lonnquist has written many musicals for full-scale theatrical
productions, including Alice In Wonderland, A Christmas Carol, Cinderella,
Beauty and
the Beast, Babar The Elephant, The Travels of Babar, The Magician’s
Nephew, and Snow White for CTM Madison Family Theater Company… plus
several smaller-scale shows including Old Befana, Search For Flutterby,
Salto’s Horrible Hiccups, Awaken! (The Lizard and The Sun), Legend
Of Sleepy Hollow, and Fairy Tulips.
These popular small-scale shows are toured by the Kenland Players Troupe, which also mounts an annual tourning production of the holiday favorite folk-tale Old Befana.
Old Befana
Old Befana is a lovely musical based on an ancient holiday story. A recipe
for enchantment, it’s warmth and magic stirs hearts of all ages.
A special child is coming... but is it rich or poor, black or white,
a boy or a girl? “Anyone could be the one to make a better world”,
Befana sings. “It could even be... you!”
Performed by the Kenland Musical-Theater Troupe, the show includes 5
actor-musicians, stage backdrop, costumes, props, and wireless sound

Salto’s Horrible Hiccups
A spicy musical treat set in old Mexico. The tale sings the praises
of friendship and good nutrition while incorporating easy-to-follow
spanish phrases and vocabulary in rhyming narrative and dialogue.
Fast and funny, Salto is a folk-tale feast for all ages—an old
ranchero’s mysterious malady disrupts life in his little pueblo,
and his illness is only cured when his friends help him to climb the
steps of the “Nutrition Pyramid!” ...
